An Ode to the Tiger Moms

An Ode to the Tiger Moms

Tiger mom,

You’re out running errands day to day,

Not giving a thought to what others say.

Whether under your clothes they are staying to hide,

Or out there in the world- we are by your side.

Like a boss you wear that teeny bikini,

With your secret out there for everyone to see.

Those radiant stretch marks shining so bright,

You birthed those kids, they gave you the right,

To wear them proud, oh so proud,

Like the tiger mom you are aloud.

Against your tan skin, those stretch marks glow,

Making you sometimes feel like a freak show.

Tiger moms stick together.

Our battle scars we wear forever.

Each stripe makes you a champion,

With your kids as the prize, you have already won!

Tiger mom, you are perfect as can be,

So here’s a hug to you from me.

XOXO,

Fellow tiger mom.

It doesn’t matter that your children have stretched out your skin beyond recognition, it’s what makes you a tiger. Wear your badge of honor proud, because that’s the only thing left to do! You have the right to rock that bikini, wear those cutoff shorts, and not feel ashamed!

The collage above is actual images of stretch marks from four different moms! This is living proof that you are not alone. There is a whole village of tiger moms, and we are right there with you. We are doing our best to rock that bikini and not give a care in the world.

My hope is that with this fun little poem, you can go easy on yourself. Give yourself some grace, and know that you are beautiful no matter what.

And please, share this poem with your mom friends. I know that they need a laugh too.
