Whether you want it to be or not, Summer is right around the corner! It’s time to start planning ahead for your kiddos and what they will be doing to keep themselves busy this Summer. We have so many awesome activities lined up in this guide, make sure to share it with your friends so you can sign up your kiddos for fun activities together!

Perfect for nature and animal-lovers, The Living Coast offers wildlife camps for ages 4-18. Full of animal encounters, games, and outdoor activities, kids will discover science and conservation while increasing their passion and knowledge of local wildlife.

San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum

Are you a creative and curious problem solver? Spend the Summer exploring with San Diego Children’s Discovery Museum Little Explorers Summer Camp! Enjoy summer at the Museum with under the sea adventures, outer space journeys, dinosaur excavations, and other exciting expeditions. Each day of camp includes access to Museum exhibits, hands-on exploration with trained education staff, and an opportunity to make new friends.

They also offer a Kindergarten Readiness Camp in the summer for children who are about to enter kindergarten. Kindergarten Readiness Camp is designed for children ages 4-6 years old who are getting ready to enter Kindergarten, PK or TK.

The New Children’s Museum

The New Children’s Museum offers camps for students ages 4-12 that are project-based and taught by professional artists and educators. Summer Camps are divided into three age groups: Camps for Littles (PreK-K)Pioneer Camps (Grades 1-3) and Explorer Camps (Grades 4-6). All camps include classroom time to explore projects as well as opportunities for physical play in the Museum and outdoor play spaces. Family and friends are invited each Friday to an exhibition to view art work created during the week. 

Summer Camps 2020 run from June 15 to August 21 (except, July 20-24). Registration for general public opens February 24.

San Diego Children’s Choir

The San Diego Children’s Choir is the area’s oldest and largest choral training program serving children ages four–18. Camp Kroc explores every area of The Salvation Army Kroc Center and offers a variety of age-appropriate recreational activities. Daily outings may include recreational field and gymnasium activities, swimming, traditional sports, arts and crafts, ice-skating, rock climbing and more. Each week is packed with fun games and activities! Our American Camp Association Accredited day camps offer athletic and cultural activities in our unique venues. Day campers enjoy making new friends as they develop skills, increase values, and learn about teamwork and leadership.

They offer 4 weeks of Spring Day Camp (3/30 – 4/24) for ages 5-14. Camp Kroc explores the unique Kroc Center campus and offers a variety of age-appropriate activities. A mid-morning snack and afternoon lunch will be provided free of cost.

Cathedral Catholic High School offers summer programs that are structured to hone academic and critical thinking skills, develop self-confidence and foster motivation. These are week-long sessions in the mornings or afternoons for students grades K – 12. Centrally located in Carmel Valley. Helen Woodward Animal Center

You Can Be a Veterinarian Camp offers a rare opportunity for kids in San Diego to practice veterinary skills, interact with animals, and gain experience with equipment they might use in the future! The Helen Woodward Animal Center, is an organization where “people help animals and animals help people.” This unique nonprofit benefits the community by providing educational and therapeutic programs for people, as well as humane care and adoption for homeless animals.

San Diego Danceworks offers dance camps for ages 4 – 14 years. We offer dance camps that include classes in a variety of dance styles and one week intensives specializing in ballet, choreography, and musical theater.

San Diego Civic Youth Ballet Summer Camps

Camps begins with a daily ballet class in which students are introduced to the technical aspects of ballet as well as the concepts of musicality and performance. Supplemental activities like arts & crafts, jazz classes, performance rehearsals, and field trips to other cultural institutions in Balboa Park make every day of camp an adventure. Over the past 18 years campers at UC San Diego Women’s Volleyball Camps have enjoyed our summers working with young women of all levels that attend our camps, whether they are striving to get to the next level of competition or looking to improve and have a great time at camp. Our curriculum is designed to teach the techniques of volleyball while playing lots of six on six drills and competitions.

Campers are sure to have a good time and improve. Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp

This unique summer camp is an opportunity for kids ages 4-18 with physical impairments such as spina bifida, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, and spinal cord injuries to participate in approximately 15 different sport rotations over 5 days.
